Wiener Werkst├Ątte.

Weiner Werkstatte is a design movement, and represents a way of live, of integrated creativity, and transcendant design ideas. This studio, founded by Josef Hoffman and Koloman Moser in Vienna in 1903, applied their creative ethos, aesthetic and penchant for the color black as a foundation to works of graphic design, clay, fashion, housewares, textiles and wall covering. And, their aesthetic, experimentation, and commitment to integrated creative community and production was ground breaking at the time, and has been influential to me as a creative, and studio owner. Their visual style was inspired by a knowledge of geometric form, a commitment to craft, and European exploration of the African continent. And I just found out that they invented the postcard (who knew). #Baller. Plus I just really, really, love the way they used of color, pattern and texture.
